Smith Reaches Across the Aisle; Hoffman Attacks His Own
"You're a whore," wrote Arizona State Sen. Jake Hoffman (R-Queen Creek) who is coming unglued as Arizona turns away from his politics of division.
When Hoffman heard that some Arizona Republicans put country over party to form a new advisory committee to endorse Kamala Harris for President, Hoffman scrawled bitterly on X (formerly Twitter), "Strange… I thought prostitution was illegal in Arizona. Ignore these whores."
Hoffman represents the ugly, hateful side of politics. A side of politics that Arizonans have grown tired of hearing. That's why his own Republican colleagues have decided to reach across the aisle to protect our democracy and bring back civility. Meanwhile, Hoffman is under felony indictment for his role in the criminal conspiracy to overturn Arizonans' votes. Hoffman is unfit for any leadership role.
Alan Smith values our Arizona communities, including all Arizonans across the political spectrum. Alan has been a strong advocate for our Constitution and our freedom to vote and choose our leaders. While Hoffman supports taking women back to an 1864 Civil War era law, Smith supports women's reproductive freedoms and advocates to keep politicians out of our doctors' offices.
"I am reaching across the aisle to bring civility back to Arizona politics. Regardless of our political ideologies, we all want the ability to raise our families in a harmonious community, wages that keep up with inflation, and a government that works for all of us. I will put Arizona and the people of Arizona above partisan politics so that we can work together to shape a better future for all."
